                                      Frequently asked questions.

  1. Can I bring another family member (spouse/ son/ daughter) along to class?
Yes definitely! I find that your puppy will pick up the training you’re doing with them that much quicker if everyone that your puppy is regularly interacting with is doing the same things. It is also helpful for fellow class members’ puppies to socialise around adults and children of different ages, and children are quite often some of the best dog trainers as they pick up the lessons very quickly! The only reservation I have about very young children joining the lessons is that there is another responsible adult with them besides the person doing the puppy training. This ensures everyone is free to concentrate in class and can enjoy their training time with their puppy.

  2. What do I need to bring to my first lesson?
Your puppy on a flat collar (no slip or choke chains) or harness (preferred)
Lead – preferably 1 metre or so long, and no extendable leads as they’re difficult to hold whilst you’re training
Some tasty training treats and a Favourite toy – if your puppy has one, though don’t be surprised if at the first class they’re too distracted/ shy to play like they do at home

  3. I’ve had a dog before – do I need to do the basic puppy course?
I think you’ll soon discover there’s nothing ‘basic’ about my puppy course! Whether you’re an experienced dog owner or just starting out, my lessons will really get you thinking and enjoying dog ownership on a whole new level. Plus even as a professional dog trainer, my puppies still get taken to puppy class, despite the fact that I could teach them the lessons they learn in class at home. It’s important for puppies to be taught in and amongst various distractions, such as other puppies or dogs, so they learn that the cues they are taught are relevant whatever else might be going on.
